UPDATE - 13th February 2017

The exact finishing time has yet to be confirmed, but today is the last day you have to grind out those special Year of the Rooster Loot Boxes in Overwatch.

Blizzard works to a Pacific Time clock, so the event could close at any time from 09:00 PT / 17:00 GMT / 18:00 CET today. It may run longer than that as the US day wears on, but our advice would be to make some time to play sooner rather than later if you're missing any items!

Talking of missing items, this is the correct time to also take stock of what you've unlocked, look at what you're missing, and think about whether it's worth buying a bundle of boxes while the going's good!

There's no telling whether or not these items will come around again, so if you absolutely must have that Legendary D.Va skin then you might fancy a roll of the dice on a box bundle. Good luck!

ORIGINAL STORY - 24th January 2017:

According to the full-length trailer that's just been leaked online, you've got more time than expected to unwrap all of your loot boxes during the Chinese New Year (of the Rooster...) event that's coming to Overwatch a little later on today.

The event will start today, Tuesday 24th January, and then wrap up at some point on Monday 13th February. We say at some point, but Blizzard are usually pretty reliable with their patch/unpatch timings - check our Year of the Rooster start times page for more info on that front.

Our most popular Overwatch guides:

As expected, Year of the Rooster introduces a whole load of new skins to the game, some of which you can see in the trailer above. We'll be covering the event all day and night, and will bring you all of the latest details as soon as we hear of them.
