On this page, you'll find details of how the Skill Rating system is being applied in Season 4 of Overwatch.

Season 4 of Overatch has just begun on the live servers, and as far as we can tell the ratings and ranking system from the previous season has been maintained for the most part, although a dev post does explain a few differences between the two:

- Players with a Skill Rating higher than 3000 will need to complete at least seven games every week if they want to avoid the rating decay system.

- After finishing a match, the time until the decay begins is delayed by 24 hours. You can “bank” up to seven days in a single week period, and you can complete one match each day or do them all in a bigger session - it doesn't matter.

- To prevent players throwing their games in order to end up at the bottom ranks and enjoy steamrolling less capable players, it's now much harder to hit the lowest and highest ends of the ladder ie. 0 and 5,000. You also won't see your ranking beneath 500.

- To get your special Top 500 animated Spray and Player Icon this time around, you will need to actually be in the Top 500 when the Season concludes.

With that out of the way, here's all the latest on Season 4's Skill Rating and Rank system, pulled directly from the live game. After that we've got a gallery of all the Golden Guns that are available for purchase with those Competitive Points [CP].
