UPDATE

A PSA for you all that Season 3 of Overwatch will end in around 8 hours from the time of publishing this article. If you've got any last minute ranking to do, now's the time to start cracking!

To confirm again, Season 3 of Overwatch ends at 16:00 PST / 00:00 UK (22nd) and 01:00 EU (23rd).

ORIGINAL STORY #2

Blizzard has confirmed that the end date for Season 3 of Overwatch will be Tuesday 21st February at 16:00 PST. This is equivalent to midnight of Wednesday 22nd February in the UK, and 01:00 that day in Europe.

In the same post on the official Overwatch forums, the development team also confirmed that Season 4 of Overwatch would start one week later on February 28th, and at the same time of 16:00 PST.

ORIGINAL STORY#1

Season 3 of Overwatch will end approximately one week before the end of this month, according to a post made by game director Jeff Kaplan on the official Overwatch forums.

The post also confirmed that there will be some sort of changes to the format with the launch of Season 4.

“We're working on a blog right now. We'll let you know ASAP the exact date of the season end as well as changes coming for Season 4.

”Usually, seasons end one week before the start of the month - so roughly expect the same here.”

Given Blizzard's historical preference for applying patches to the game on a Tuesday, we're going to speculate that Season 3 of Overwatch will end on Tuesday 21st February, and Season 4 will commence one week later on Tuesday 28th February.

We're keen to see exactly what the Season 4 changes will amount to, although it's fair to say that the placement system hasn't gone down terribly well with the player base in the current season.

Our most popular Overwatch guides:

Many have complained they've been placed unreasonably low down the rankings after completing their placement matches, and then struggled to rise up the ladder with less capable players - who presumably do deserve to be rated that low...

Anyway, whether or not Blizzard plans to make further changes to the placement system is yet to be seen, but we'll bring you all the details of the blog post as soon as it's made public.
