Blizzard recently released a teaser for the next Overwatch hero in the form of a fictional interview with the robot-obsessed Efi Oladele. As you'd expect, this resulted in rampant speculation about what this might mean for the next character to hit the game.
A poster on Reddit has just gone further than most, however, and believes that they've uncovered a release date for the new hero - one that's apparently been staring us in the face all along.
The theory starts off by referencing a robotic character who appears on one of the posters in Numbani, the home of Oladele and scene of a recent invasion which added further fuel for the rumour mill. Here's the character in question:
Elsewhere in Overwatch you can find a poster advertising a Spring Collection for Fashion Week. Interestingly enough, you can see our friend from the first billboard on it as well:
We once again see this robot appearing on a sign in Numbani for a company called Aetria which has a presence in Numbani, New York and Paris:
So, we have a common character connecting fashion, New York, Paris and Numbani together, but what does that mean for a possible release date for Overwatch's next hero? Well, this is where things start to get interesting:
- New York Fashion week took place on 9-15th February this year.
- Paris Fashion Week begins this week and runs from Tuesday 28th February to March 8th, 2017.
The theory goes that we'll either hear something tomorrow, or we'll see the new hero launched with Numbani Fashion Week, which might perhaps take place a few weeks after the real-life Paris show.

It's an interesting idea, and we wouldn't put it past Blizzard to leave these sorts of connections hiding in plain sight like this. Suffice to say we'll be keeping a close eye on developments over the coming days, and will bring you all the latest information as soon as it's uncovered.
